Hygienist Steph takes on another painful challenge!

Stephanie CarterAs many people who know me are aware I am always looking for a new challenge; so far, I have completed the Clarendon Walk, Jurassic Coast challenge, the Great South Run to name a few. I have now decided that I needed a bigger challenge so have signed up to the ‘London 2 Bright Ultra-Challenge’ ……the aim being to walk 100 km (approx. 63 miles) in 24 hours. Luckily for me my Jurassic Coast Challenge (hence the team name ‘Dinosaur Duo’) walking friend Polly was persuaded to join me on this exciting possibly slightly crazy adventure.london 2 brighton challenge

The walk is taking place 25th/26th May 2019… plenty of training time?!

Having decided on the adventure the next step was to select a charity to support and walk for…not only to raise money for the charity but to provide us with some well-needed motivation!!

Working in the dental sector for me the choice was easy:

This is not only a fantastic charity providing dental care and education in both the UK and abroad but it is a local charity with its headquarters just down the road in Landford; it is also a charity that Romsey Dental Care supports by donating dental equipment. For further information on Dentaid please visit their website at:

Over the next few months I thought it might be interesting (at least for me and Polly!) to write a short ‘blog’ updating people on the training progress and providing information and updates on the work that DentAid does. So be prepared for bad pictures / stories of blisters / feeling sorry for ourselves and hopefully by the time we complete (we know we will!!) this challenge you will feel as involved in it as we do!

Look out for the monthly updates on the Romsey Dental Care website ‘News’ page.

If you would feel you would like to support Steph and Polly on their walk we have set up a donation page which can be found at:

Alternatively there is a collection box in reception at Romsey Dental Care.
